A Closer Look at Vocal Blokes

Vocal Blokes serves as a valued part of Wellington's local arts and music community. This men's choir was established in 2020, continuing the MaleVocale tradition that began in 2007. With a group of around 20 to 25 men, the choir focuses on the shared enjoyment of singing in a secular setting. It performs occasionally and places no emphasis on prior experience, making it suitable for those interested in community singing without formal requirements.

Our Home Ground

The choir meets at the Former Salvation Army Hall at 209 The Parade in Island Bay, Wellington. Sessions run on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm during the school term, with breaks observed during school holidays. The venue provides a straightforward location for weekly rehearsals, and new members can join at any time of the year.

Joining Vocal Blokes

Those considering the choir are invited to attend two free sessions to decide if it suits them. Contact can be made directly to receive guidance on getting started. The approach keeps participation straightforward and open to men who enjoy group singing in a low-pressure environment.
