Once the completed application form has been received the secretary will contact you and provide you with the times and details of the range. It is a requirement that you start with 3 shooting sessions to assess if you enjoy the sport. The limit of three visits prior to your decision to join is mandatory. After the 3 sessions you can only shoot when you have paid the joining fees to the Levin Pistol Club and completed the Pistol New Zealand application form (FM1). Initially you join as a probationary member for a mandatory period of minimum of 6 months. New members are initially trained by the club training officer and later supervised by senior members of the club in the safe handling and shooting of small calibre pistols on our indoor range. Many members find indoor small calibre target pistol shooting (Also known as ISSF International Shooting Sport Federation) completely satisfying and remain in this discipline for their entire target pistol shooting career. Other members choose to get involved in other disciplines. Have a look at the disciplines pages to read more about the disciplines available at the Levin Pistol Club After a minimum of 6 months and 12 shoots you are able to complete an application for full membership. The club committee will assess if you meet the requirements to become a full member.
