Dunedin Harmony Chorus

A Closer Look at Dunedin Harmony Chorus

Dunedin Harmony Chorus plays an active role in the local arts and music scene in Otago as a women's barbershop chorus focused on four-part a cappella harmony singing. The group is part of Sweet Adelines and centres its activities on vocal education, performances and competitions. It suits women in the Dunedin area who enjoy singing and are able to hold a tune, with no previous experience necessary. The chorus currently has around 30 members and operates under the direction of Robyn Abernethy, creating opportunities for regular group singing and skill development in a welcoming environment.

Our Home Ground

Based in South Dunedin within the wider Dunedin area, the chorus holds its rehearsals at the Dunedin Church of Christ on Prince Albert Road. This central Otago location supports regular Tuesday evening sessions at 7pm, allowing the group to connect with the local community through its activities. Prospective members are encouraged to check the schedule ahead of time before attending, as all rehearsals remain open to the public and those considering joining.
