The Whakatane Camera Club Inc. offers a warm and supportive community for photographers in the Bay of Plenty. Established in 1950, the club brings together people of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced professionals, in a friendly atmosphere focused on skill development and shared enjoyment of photography.

Members benefit from monthly competitions that provide constructive feedback, occasional workshops to build technical knowledge, and access to Photographic Society of New Zealand salons and events through the club's affiliation. The emphasis remains on creating a supportive space where participants can improve their craft at their own pace.

About Whakatāne

Based in Whakatāne, the club serves as a local gathering point for photography enthusiasts across the Bay of Plenty region. It provides a consistent meeting place where members can connect, share experiences and take part in both structured activities and relaxed outings.

Those interested in joining can attend the regular meetings held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm, with the date deferred if it falls on a public holiday. During summer months, an additional informal session takes place on the third Tuesday for get-togethers and outings. All are welcome.
