Wellington VHF Group (Incorporated) is known for its long-standing commitment to amateur and experimental radio. As Branch 74 of NZART, this not-for-profit registered incorporated society has operated since 1974 and maintains important radio installations such as beacons, repeaters and links that support the wider radio community.

The club suits anyone with an interest in radio communications, whether they are new to the hobby or have years of experience. Members gather to discuss technical topics, experiment with equipment and build connections in a friendly setting focused on practical radio activities.

Our Home Ground

Located in Tawa, Wellington, the group holds its general meetings at the Tawa Community Centre on Cambridge Street. These gatherings take place on the last Thursday of each month at 7:30pm, except in December. January meetings are often held as a combined barbecue at QE2 Park in Paekākāriki, giving members a relaxed outdoor opportunity to connect.

The Tawa base provides convenient access for people across the Wellington region and supports the club's focus on maintaining reliable radio infrastructure in the local area.
