For longer getaways, our club heads to destinations like the dramatic West Coast or the rolling hills of Marlborough, making the most of our central South Island position. Our monthly meetings, held at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month (except January) at the Fish & Game Rooms on Champion Road, Richmond, are a great way to get involved. Open to the public for a small gold coin donation, these evenings include updates on past and upcoming hikes, guest speakers or slide shows, and a relaxed chat over tea and biscuits. We also organise social events throughout the year to strengthen our community spirit. For prospective members, joining is straightforward—complete two one-day hikes with us to ensure we’re a good fit, then sign up for an annual subscription that includes discounts on hut passes and gear.
