The Te Awamutu Bridge Club is affiliated to the New Zealand Bridge Federation and is a growing organisation. Te Awamutu is an Open club and there are no grade restrictions for any sessions. There are four regular sessions: Monday 7pm -a friendly social session providing an opportunity to discuss hands. No partners  required Tuesday 11.00 a.m. BYO lunch. A mix of players from experienced to very new players, A very social session especially over lunch.  Wednesday 7.00 p.m. Our only night session with a range of players. Many of the newer players attend this session.  Friday afternoon 1.15pm. Our busiest session, with a range of players from beginners to masters Please note: that all players must arrive ten to fifteen minutes prior to starting time. Participation New members and visitors to our club are most welcome. Partners can be arranged for you by ringing one of the following partnership stewards. Lessons run for 10 weeks. Lessons begin on the first Thursday in May. Fee structure: Full Subscription is $100 per year (including NZ Bridge Affiliation fee) and we pay $4.00 "table money" each time we play.

Weekly Sessions for All Players

Te Awamutu Bridge Club hosts four weekly sessions to suit a variety of schedules and skill levels. Kick off the week with our Monday 7:00 p.m. social session, where you can discuss hands in a relaxed setting—no partner needed. Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. feature a BYO lunch and a mix of new and experienced players, while Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. attract many newer players alongside a range of abilities. Our busiest session is on Fridays at 1:15 p.m., welcoming everyone from novices to masters. Remember to arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in before the games begin.

Membership and Beginner Opportunities

We’re thrilled to invite new members and visitors to join our Te Awamutu card-playing community. If you need a partner for a session, our partnership stewards are just a call away—reach out to Nick Sanders for Mondays, Noeline Dunwoody for Tuesdays and Fridays, or Vicki Shelton for Wednesdays. Our membership structure includes a $100 annual subscription fee, covering affiliation with the national federation, and a $4.00 table fee per session. For those new to the game, our 10-week beginner lessons starting the first Thursday in May offer a fantastic introduction to bridge in a supportive setting.
