When you join Taradale Bridge Club, expect a warm welcome into a dedicated community of bridge players where strategy, camaraderie, and skill-building take centre stage. Established in 1975, our club marked its Golden Jubilee in 2025, reflecting decades of passion for this timeless card game. New members can look forward to structured sessions that cater to various schedules, helping you improve your bridge techniques while connecting with like-minded individuals. As of January 2026, we proudly have 223 members, including 170 full members and 53 associates, with special recognition for our six members over 90 and four students—showing our commitment to players of all ages and experiences.

Our regular sessions provide ample opportunities to play: Monday mornings start at 9:30 am, convened by Anne Dempsey (8448325 or 0273700964) and Jim Brown (0274518102); Monday evenings begin at 7:00 pm with Anne Thorn (0210671076) and Helen Kemp (0274888371); Tuesdays at 1:30 pm are led by Trish Patterson (0276352778); Wednesdays at 7:00 pm feature Ruth Spittle (0272494336) and Jo Hayes (02102703261); and Thursdays at 9:30 am are hosted by Darin Underhill (0274977541) and Lavinia Hart (021621040). Nestled at 48 Clyde Jeffery Drive in Poraiti, Napier, Taradale Bridge Club's venue in Hawke's Bay offers exceptional facilities tailored for bridge enthusiasts. In 2023, we relocated to these new rooms at Park Island, enhancing our space with outstanding amenities that support focused gameplay and relaxed socialising. Ample car parking ensures hassle-free access, allowing members to concentrate on their cards without worry.

Poraiti's location in Hawke's Bay ties our club deeply to the region's rich history of community gatherings and recreational pursuits. Since our founding in 1975, we've grown alongside this vibrant area, becoming a cornerstone for card game lovers in Napier. The move to Park Island in 2023 modernised our setup while honouring our legacy, providing a comfortable hub that reflects Hawke's Bay's welcoming spirit.
