Taieri Bridge Club
The Taieri Bridge Club was formed in 1973. The membership is now fairly steady at around 140 members. The Club is affiliated with NZ Bridge and works in close cooperation with the Otago Bridge Club. The Club is efficiently run and is known for its friendly atmosphere. It is up-to-date and uses the NZ Bridge Scorer programme with tablets and all hands are randomly dealt by a machine. Regular sessions are played three times a week and tournaments are run four or five times during the year. Classes are conducted for both beginners and improvers. Monday evenings are graded or handicapped to give less experienced players some encouragement. The Wednesday evening session is open grade and is more competitive. Saturday afternoon is a more social event and frequent visitors from the Otago Club are welcomed. Hand records are provided for those who want them at the end of all sessions. The table money for all sessions is $5.00 which covers 3 hours of bridge and a cup of tea or coffee at the intermission or as you go. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the commencement time. Annual subscriptions are currently $65.00 including levies.
