About Sailability Wellington Trust
Sailability Wellington Trust is a welcoming yacht club established in 2002 for people with disabilities. With approximately 200 members, the club has grown into the largest sailing program of its kind in New Zealand. Members appreciate the steady schedule of on-water activities and the chance to develop skills in a supportive setting. The fleet includes 27 specially designed Hansa yachts and 3 support boats, allowing a range of experiences from beginner lessons through to racing.
The club focuses on practical sailing opportunities that suit different abilities and interests. Activities include learn to sail courses, learn to race training, therapeutic sailing, and regular racing events. Sessions run up to six days per week when weather permits, giving members consistent access to the water throughout the year.
Venue Details
Based in Hataitai, Wellington, Sailability Wellington Trust operates from three established boating locations. These bases are Evans Bay Yacht & Motorboat Club on Fridays and Sundays, Titahi Bay Boating Club on Thursdays and Saturdays, and Lowry Bay Yacht Club / Seaview on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
