Our Home Ground

Based in Matakana, the choir connects with the local area through its regular activities at the Matakana Hall. Rehearsals take place every Thursday evening at 7pm, providing a consistent gathering point for participants in Auckland. The venue serves as the central location for all sessions, supporting the choir's ongoing presence in the community since its establishment.

Directed by Jenny Eirena, the Matakantata Choir has operated since 2009 with approximately 40 members. The group maintains a focus on community participation through its mixed-age approach and varied musical offerings.
