Canterbury Mountaineering Club
The CMC was formed on 10 April 1925 with a membership base of around 27 adventurers. Originally established as a tramping club, the group’s usual activities included outings on the Port Hills around Christchurch and further afield to the foothills of Canterbury. The Club owns nine non-bookable huts & two member only lodges in the Canterbury & Mount Cook regions, We encourage joining as a member to enjoy free or discounted usage of these assets. The CMC holds weekly Climb nights, Monthly Club nights, instruction courses, and other mountain-themed events like Festivals, Art Auctions & Balls throughout the year.
