New members welcome

The Bishopdale Tramping Club has been operating since May 1985 and arranges a full day tramp each Wednesday by bus. Each Wednesday, our bus leaves the car park at Bishopdale at 8:30am (or occasionally at 8:00am), returning by about 5pm. One alternative pickup/dropoff point is also offered each week, with its location dependent on that day’s tramp. The club operates a pay as you go system and trampers pay a fee online for the particular tramps they join. There is a minimal annual subscription reviewed annually. See Our programme for details of upcoming tramps. If you have a reasonable level of fitness, are capable of walking on hills and would like to join us on a tramp, click here for more information. Members have priority over visitors until 5.00pm on the Monday before the tramp. New members should have some tramping experience and be able to walk 3 – 5 hours. As many of our tramps include hill walking it is important that prospective members have the ability to climb hills, eg from Princess Margaret Hospital to the Sugarloaf or the Bridle Path. To have their membership confirmed new members must do 3 qualifying tramps and all members must do 10 tramps per year (1st April to 31st March ) to retain their full membership. Intending members may only participate in the alternative option for their 3 qualifying tramps.
