Observing the Sky. Public nights at Observatory every Tue evening, but groups at other times by arrangement only. New Plymouth Astronomical Society Meetings (Club Nights) are held at the Observatory on the third Saturday of the month starting at 7:30pm. public evening : Tue 7:30pm in Winter; 8:30pm in Summer, generally running 1.5 hrs, closed public holidays Adults $6, Juniors (someone still at school) $4 and Family $15 (2 adults / 2 children) Travel information: The carpark is accessed from Robe Street. There is a sign at the base of the access road that runs up past the Civil Defence Headquarters.
