A Capella Singers: The Club Experience

A Capella Singers is an auditioned choir founded in 1975 by Ron James, who served as the first Musical Director and remains the current Patron. The choir is known for its consistent performances across nearly five decades, presenting three concerts annually with a broad repertoire ranging from Renaissance pieces to works from the present day. Based in Invercargill, the group comprises around 25 members and maintains a smaller ensemble called A Capella Concertino, established in 2009, which provides further opportunities for selected singers.

Current Musical Director Christine McLeod leads the choir, continuing its tradition of quality choral music. The ensemble focuses on disciplined rehearsal and polished performances that appeal to audiences seeking varied vocal music in Southland.
